Begins with a March 6 report to the community.
Concern over future land development.
Concern over growing awareness of man's negative effects on environment and concern for Bolinas Lagoon.
Need for substantial changes in the Master Plan.
The Lagoon is unique and must be kept that way. Circulation must be maintained and there is a need to slow input of pollution from the watershed. The sewer system will help but DDT must be controlled.
A bicycle path around the lagoon is being considered.
In June, Mr. Dougherty, who was also president of the Water District Board explained the plan for joint Stinson/Bolinas sewer system. Opposition was centered around excessive cost. Lack of participation of the community in planning, non-use of ecological knowledge, and opposition to joining with Bolinas.
There was great concern about Bolinas discharging raw sewage into the lagoon. They now must change. Mr. Dougherty spoke of the inadequacy of septic tanks.
Concerns about sewage plan dealt with lack of community input.Collection
