A black and white photograph printed from scanned image. The photograph of the Chevoron gas station was taken by Bill Sullivan, the son of Nancy Sullivan, in 1977 while he was studying photography at UC Sant Cruz. The Chevron gas station stood at the corner of Calle Del Mar and Highway One, across from the Superette Store, 3501 Shoreline Highway. The photo shows the station with Spanish tile roof on wood frame in front and stuccoed office and repair shop of the main building in the back. There are 3 gasoline pumps in front - Chevron Regular, Chevron Unleaded, and Chevron Supreme. It was owned by Gene Abbot at the time. It was purchased by Proctor Jones' Dipsea Property in 1980's and eventually by KMC Corp in the 1990's who demolished it during the tank remodeling. Due to unforeseen circumstances, politically and otherwise, it was decided not to pursue the reconstruction. It was the last gasoline station in Stinson Beach. It is written on the lower right margin in pencil, Original Photo by Bill Sullivan '77.Collection
