Flash Gas Station circa 1965-70

The image captures the Flash gas station from the mid-1960s, situated on Highway 8 at Homeside Drive. Distinctive for its architecture, the station features two large, mushroom-like canopies that provide cover for the fuel pumps. Underneath these futuristic shelters, classic cars of the era receive service. The station's design, with its bold, simple signage that reads "FLASH" in all caps, exemplifies mid-century modern design influences, blending functionality with a unique aesthetic. A clear sky in the background and a sparsely decorated foreground suggest a typical roadside stop of the time, busy yet solitary in its immediate surroundings.
