Passenger Manifest: Baldauf, Grete, age 41, widow, born Mannheim, residing in Munich, Line 15. Sailed 3 January 1936 on the S.S. Europa from Bremen to New York arriving 10 January 1936. Gerte, or Maugareta Baldauf is the only girl and youngest child of Herman Straus. She is the sister to Ludwig Theodor, Ernst, and Harry Herman Straus. She is also the great grandaughter of Ernst Fradche Straus.
