Description

Letter from Milton Sutliff to Levi Sutliff. First, Milton writes that Mr. Smith spoke to him regarding the judgement in the case against Sam Gilbert. Smith informed him that he had a long talk with Gilbert and also with Robert Quigley. Gilbert is able to give security for the replacement of all the money paid by the application of the property that the judgement was made on. Smith told Milton that he will pay $500 before the year. Milton continues to write that court adjourned early with twenty or thirty cases still to be tried. Writes about seeing Flavel that week while he was on his way to see Calvin and his business in Jefferson. Milton ends with giving Levi advice on keeping his letters, writing the date on them and file them under the name that wrote them and place them in his trunk.
