Cloth over rigid cover edition of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" . Background of cover is off-white, the title text is in red and green and an image of the cowardly lion with eyeglasses is on front in green panel. Title is printed on rear cover as well, in addition to images of the tin man Dorothy and the Scarecrow. Copyright 1899 by L. Frank Baum and W. W. Denslow (illustrator). Rigid cover book; 8 & 5/8 inches high X 6.5 inches wide. Inscribed in ink on first page: "Edward Sutliff Brainard Mch?. 16, 1901.
