In 1945 the Viking Athletic Association won the National Cup against the South Side Swedes.
Viking Athletic Association was founded in 1926 by a group of young Swedes in Chicago. It was originally called the Liberty Ball Club. The primary sport was soccer. As membership grew, the club formed teams for softball, golf, basketball, and bowling. The club won league championships in soccer in the 1940s.Acquisition
