Description

Dark brown leather suitcase. The leather is very rough, and a guarantee on the bottom says that the leather is walrus. Handle is attached to two brass fittings by rings and is wrapped in finer leather. There is a sticker on the front with a large "A" flanked by two anchors and underneath one can make out the words "New York to Gothenburg". Note: The sale and trade of walrus leather has been banned for quite some time, making this suitcase actually very rare. A U.S. Department of Commerce regulation in 1937 and The Congressional Walrus Act of 1941 banned all U.S. commercial hunting, allowing only native subsistence hunting.
