Christmas scene (juletid) linen tapestry in a wooden frame. Depicts a room in a home with eight people in various stages of cooking, eating, drinking, and decorating. A Christmas tree can be seen in the background. A hearth is to the left and a table is in the center. A clock in the right corner shows the date 1790. Made circa 1913.Context
Depicts a scene as the donor's parents remembers juletid. In 1920, the donor's parents bought a home at 1842 N. Washtenaw Av. in Chicago. They married in 1913. The donor's mother was born in Karlstad, Värmland and father in Kättbo, Dalarna. The mother emigrated to Chicago at age 18 in 1895 and the father at age 23 in 1903. They were members of the old Humboldt Park Swedish Baptist Church (later called Fairfield Baptist Church) but latter attended the Philadelphia Church on North Clark St.Acquisition
