Description

Greenish-white-covered book entitled "Svenska Kokboken" by Gustafva Björklund M.F.L. published by Svenska Tribunen-Nyheter in Chicago. The front cover is decorated with a woman wearing a dress with black and orange vertical stripes, a green hat, and a green apron standing in a kitchen. There are three pots and one kettle on the countertop, all of which are a combination of green and island-like black and green bowls, cups, jugs, and cooking utensils on the set of shelves. The inscription, "Martha Johnson 1912 - Mathilda Johnson ifrån Havmark." is written on the first page in black letters. Found inside the book: Photocopy of news clipping from New York Times with headline "Chemists Endorse Gelatin as Food" and a paper clipping with a recipe for "Picnic Gingerbread".
