Painting of a covered boat, with a large bell in a pavilion at the prow and three flags on posts along its length, docked at a jetty, with passengers on and approaching its gangway. A white flag on the prow reads, "Bethel," and yellow lettering below it on the side reads, "J. Wesley." Inscribed along the bottom is, "The BETHEL SHIP - A home for Swedish immigrants in New York on their way to Chikago [sic]. During the 1840's," and lower, signed and dated.Type of Painting
