Leon Lundmark (1875 - 1942) born in Mörlund, Kalmar County in Sweden immigrated to the United States at age 20. While his career began in Sweden where he was born, he came to America to continue his artistic pursuits. During the 1920’s Lundmark served as director of the Scandinavian-American Art Association in Chicago. Lundmark’s preferred muse was seascapes and coastal scenes. During his lifetime Lundmark’s paintings were exhibited in sixty-one American cities and twelve European and Asian countries.Acquisition
