The Swedish American Athletic Association (S.A.A.A.) merged the Swedish Gymnastic Club, Eskil Athletic Club of the South Side, and the Scandia Athletic Club of the North Side in 1914. It united men of Swedish descent via athletics and promoted the social and intellectual welfare of its members. Sports included wrestling, boxing, soccer, gymnastics, bowling, and golf. Today, the club hosts an annual picnic and publishes a quarterly newsletter called "The Punching Bag".Acquisition
