Context

The American Union of Swedish Singers is a group of choirs that formed in 1892, with their first performance at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. Since the formation, the Union has performed in many world renowned venues. Most of the repertoire today is in both Swedish and English. The Union participates in singing tours of Scandinavia, and every three years, conventions are held for singers across the country to meet and share songs. The Chicago Swedish Male Chorus, now the Mixed Chorus, is operational out of the Swedish American Museum.
