"Nils Holgerssons underbara resa genom Sverige" by Selma Lagerlöf is a popular children's book, first published in Sweden in 1906. The following year it was published in English under the title "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils". The book tells the tale of a young boy, Nils, who is shrunk by a tomte (a type of gnome of elf) and taken on adventures across Sweden with the goose Martin. The book was adapted into multiple film animations in Russian, Japanese, German, and French. The book became so popular that the image of Nils on the back of his goose was the reverse side of the Swedish 20 krona banknote until 2015.Acquisition
