Immigration inspection card that was stamped in Mar. 1898 by the U.S Consulate in Liverpool and again in New York.

Context

This inspection card shows Frans Johansson passed a sanitary inspection by the U.S. Consulate in Liverpool and again in New York when he arrived on March 16, 1898. Sanitary measures were put in place aboard ships to keep passengers safe and avoid quarantine upon arrival.
