Description

A Sámi guksi made of wood. The upper part of the handle is white, made of reindeer antler, and decorated with predominantly white trapezoid-like shapes on a black ring.

Context

A guksi (Northern Sámi) or kåsa (Swedish) is a carved drinking or serving vessel with a handle. Traditionally made of birch burl, today you can find guksi made of different materials such as plastic.
