During the 1890s, women's fashion was beginning to move away from the Victorian era fashion. Women were enjoying new found indepedence and were working, playing sports, and cycling. Beacuse of this women's clothing began to see influence from men's ware. The most common example of this is the shirtwaist ensemble, a skirt, shirtwaist (shirt tailored like a man's), and light jacket. This jacket is similar to those worn with a shirtwaist ensemble.Acquisition
