Description

Jacket worn by Norman D. Johnson when he served in the US Navy during WWII. The jacket is part of a Ex O uniform worn for formal occasions. The coat is blue with six buttons down the center. On each sleeve are three gold bands and a gold star (the color has faded). Just below the inside right breast pocket is the tag "Desmond's" indicating the maker. At the top left on the inside is "Norman Johnson" written on a white cloth and glued into the lining. Above the breast pocket are colored bars. The yellow bar stands for American Defense. The blue bar stands for American Campaign. The orange bar stands for Asistic Pacific Campaign Medal - WWII. The green bar stands for Europe - African - Middle Eastern Campiaign. The red bar stands for Philippine Liberation - WWII. There are Bronze Service Stars on each bar except the blue. These stars represent an additional award to Johnson.
