Description

Small purse made of reindeer leather and felt, made by Sami artisans. The purse has a front part that is green and made of felt and a back part that is brown and made of leather. The design mimics the drums of the noa'idi, which are typically separated into four quadrants that each have a respective sigil or signifier inked onto them. These drums are essential to the core of Sami spirituality. The green part is decorated with embroidered, silver-colored 'T' shapes and adjoining horizontal and vertical lines. Many Sami artisans work with pewter or silver wire to create decorative embroidery.
