Almanac from the Guangxu Era (1877)
This copy of a traditional Chinese almanac, known as a Tōngshū, dates back to the third year of the Guangxu Era (1877). The cover page, in a vibrant red, is decorated with the auspicious phrase "Long life and much happiness". The book was printed by Dānguìtáng in the provincial capital.
Such almanacs served as important guides for daily life in imperial China, containing auspicious days, astrological predictions, and other traditional instructions for activities such as marriage, travel, or farming.
The book was cataloged in 1894 as part of the "Powers Memorial Library" under the inventory number 2191.
