From the book: "Not to be confused with Basketweave or Basket Cable, the Basket Stitch works equally well in a single-color version but is most adaptable to color contrast. It is a variation of Slipped-Stitch Ridges, with horizontal strips of Garter Stitch worked in behind the ridges. It may also be worked in the same manner as the Bricks pattern, i.e., with two rows of stockinette in place of four rows of garter stitch for Color B, and two rows of garter stitch for Color A in place of stockinette."Collection
