Beech leaf pattern

Name/Title

Beech leaf pattern

Entry/Object ID

2020.1.375

Description

From the book: "This is one of the loveliest of lace patterns. It bears little resemblance to the other "leaf"-theme laces but is more similar to the Openwork Diamond patterns, in that the "leaves" are formed of solid fabric stitches set off by openings around their edges. Note that the number of stitches does not remain constant in every row."
