Johanna was born in 1964 in the Netherlands, growing up with the tradition that young girls were taught handcraft skills such as knitting. She initially struggled to learn how to knit but eventually had a teacher in the 70s who used unique methods and materials to help her learn. She is now an avid knitter and even taught some friends how to knit. Johanna greatly appreciates the lesson her teacher taught her: sometimes you need to take a different path to learn something, but you will get there in the end!
