From the book: "These patterns make a pretty novelty fabric consisting of garter-stitch blocks divided by rows and columns of eyelets. Each block contains one of more eyelets arranged in imitation of the spots on the face of a die. Any of the six possible arrangements can be used, depending on how the rows are worked."
