Use

Women's headpiece worn as part of traditional costume in the Guizhou province of China.

Context

This head covering likely comes from the Yao people from China. Yao women are known for growing their hair long, only cutting their hair once in their lives between the ages of 16 or 18. Unmarried women typically don't show their hair in public, and would wear a headpiece like this to cover their long locks.
