From the book: "Knotted Rib and Broad Spiral Rib are two ribbing patterns which combine handsomely. The Knotted Rib is tight, whereas the Broad Spiral Rib projects from the fabric in a series of rounded columns with the stitches spiraling around them to the right. Either pattern, or a combination of them, is very good for heavy, fancy cable sweaters full of texture interest."
