Description

Rectangular sampler which depicts the alphabet and numbers in a variety of styles through cross-stitch embroidery on a beige plain weave ground fabric. At the bottom of the sampler, the work reads “Maria Davis / Bangor Maine / Live in peace with all men.” Date is embroidered in the bottom right corner with the same colored thread as the ground weave, so it appears subtly.
