Southwest China, a region of topographic, climatic and human diversity, is home to 26 of China's 55 ethnic groups. Writing with Thread is a 430-page exhibition catalog which provides an arresting visual feast of 500 exquisite and historically important costumes produced by 15 ethnic groups and nearly 100 subgroups.
