The student who is absent will present the homeroom teacher with a written explanation, from the parents as soon as the student returns to school. 2. CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADES AND RECORDS 1971-1972 GRADING SYSTEM LETTER GRADE NUMERICAL GRADE DESCRIPTION A+ 95 - 100 Superior A 90 - 94 Excel!ant B + Very Good 8 80 - 84 Average C 75 - 79 Poor D 70 - 74 Failure F Belov/ 70 I Incomplete W Withdrawn 1 Grading periods are six weeks long. Six weeks test will be scheduled ’ but are not required. Six weeks test periods will be one period long. 2. Semester test will be administered at the end of 18 weeks and 36 weeks. These tests are required and will be two hours long. 3. Semester grades are determined by averaging the three six weeks grades with the semester jtest grade. 4. The final average or yearly average is determined by adding the two semester grades and dividing by 2. 5. The attendance register will be kept by the homeroom teacher. Its purpose is to record the attendance of students as individuals and as groups. State requirements are that it will be averaged and checked once at the end of each school months 6* The class record book is provided for the teacher to keep a record of the academic achievement of individual students. Numerical grades are .recorded in the class record book. The grade exchange cards are prepared by the subjects matter teacher . and sent at the end-of each six weeks period to the homeroom teacher for recording on the report card. A long blast on the regular bell system. Procedure for emptying buildings: 1. All students in buildings next to the boulevard will go out hall doors facing the boulevard and line up at least one hundred feet from building. 2. Students in the middle tier of buildings and those on the east side will leave by the east hall doors. All students will clear the buildings by at least one hundred feet. 3. Fire Marshalls and Fire inspectors will secure rooms and buildings. 4. Teacher will accompany students to the waiting area. ONE DRILL PER MONTH.
