Context

Artist Bertha Noyes (1876-1976) was one of the three organizers of the Club in 1916, along with architect Luther Morris Leisenring and painter and colorist Michel Jacobs. By "Roskilid," Noyes may have meant her scene was typical of the scenic village of Roskil, Denmark.
