Sideboard

Sideboard, unknown maker, Federal Style, 20th c.

The serpentine carcass with two oblong drawers is flanked by a pair of cabinets is supported on six long tapered legs, square in section, with spade feet. The top is plain with a brass back rail, while the drawer fronts and legs are ornamented with stringing, banding, and inlaid stylized bell flower motifs. The brass drawer pulls have oval back plates embossed with American Eagles and drop bail handles. The drawers and cabinets have locks with inlaid wood keyhole surrounds.
