Black and white printed silk haori. About calf-length. The collar runs around the neck and ends at about hip-height. Rectangular lapel panel attached underneath collar at left and right front of haori, to which haori hime (cords used to tie haori closed) are attached. White stitching visible on haori hime (shitsuke ito?). Sleeves are broad, rectangular, and end above the sleeves. Broad sleeve openings. The miyatsukuchi (the lower half of the armholes that are not covered by the sleeves) suggest the garment is meant for a woman. The back panels of the haori from the miyatsukuchi to the bottom hem are lined with a rectangular panel of white brocade silk. Across the haori - under the right breast, at the back bottom hem, and inside the left front opening - are printed geometric and floral blocks.Acquisition
