Description

Part A) Black silk taffeta bodice with bretelles, an ivory chemisette and stock collar. The bust is puffed and trimmed with velvet and machine lace apppliques. Similar decoration on bodice back. Wrist length sleeves decorated with tucking and appliques. Stock collar decorated with black velvet piping and embroidered black dots. Bodice fastens at centre front with hooks-and-eyes. Bodice lined in black cotton with boning in most seams and fitted. Part B) A black, floor-length skirt with a short train. The front of the skirt is decorated with a vertical black strip of velvet bordered by french knots on either side. On the bottom front of the skirt are sewn two vertical rows of five round black ornaments. Two decorative 1" strips of material are sewn horizontally around the bottom edge of the skirt. Metal hook-and-eye as well as metal snap fastener closures in center rear. Some wear.
