Description

Part A) An ivory silk baptismal gown. Puffed sleeves and high neckline. The sleeves and bottom of the skirt are trimmed with ivory Maltese lace. The skirt, front of the bodice and waist have bands of Maltese lace inserted. A white ribbon is drawn through the waist and fastened into a bow on the front of the gown. Cloth tie closures in center rear. Some staining as well as some discolouration, particularly on lace. Part B) A two-layered ivory silk cape with wide collar. The sides of the cape and yoke are trimmed with ivory lace. Bands of Maltese lace are also inserted into both layers of the cape's main body. The garment fastens around the neck with a white silk bow. Some discolouration, particularly on lace.
