Part A) Woman's black and gold belt. Square-ended strap with diamond-shaped points at center of belt. Belt is black, with white facing. Outside of belt is covered with gold metallic braid attached in spiral and abstract floral motif. Down center of the diamond-shaped center of belt are seven round gold embellishments. On either side of the embellishments are a clover-shaped golden embellishment. Belt is edged with gold metallic braid. White cardboard interfacing.
Part B) Diamond-shaped bag. Top point of bag is open at seam, and lined with white satin. Front of bag has gold metallic edging as well as twisted gold metallic border, with a large clover-shaped gold metallic embellishment. In center of clover embellishment is a length of gold metallic chain thread with dangling round gold thread embellishments. Back of bag is plain black. Bag has gold thread loop at top points attaching it to Part A.Use
Allegedly belonged to Louise Herve (1878-1953), wife of Count Louis de Kerckhove dit van der Varent.Acquisition
