Shears, garden. The blades are made entirely from steel bars drawn down to the requisite shape under a steam or other suitable power hammer. The joint A is made by a pair of sinking-tools used under the hammer, so that every joint is a facsimile of the others. The shanks are subsequently cranked at B in a pair of tools in the same or another hammer, which form the crank direct from the flat shank instead of by twisting.Cataloged By
