Scissors or shears. -- The pivot A is placed at the ends of the blades B, C and out of the line of the cutting-edges. The objects attained are a greater leverage and a sliding motion of one blade across the other, affording a better shearing action. A pin D sliding in a slot may be provided for limiting the opening of the blades. The shears are specially applicable as edging or pruning shears, or as lamp wick-trimmers.Cataloged By
