Shears, sheep. The blades A of the shears are made readily detachable by connecting them to projecting lips on the shanks B by screws J. The shanks terminate in three-sided bases C, and are hinged together by the bold D. Round this pin the spring E, F is places, the tension of which keeps the blades apart. To prevent gapping, however, a guard-spring G is used, one end of which comes in contact with a small stop H when the blades open. When the blades require grinding, the spring G can be released and the blades can be opened to a larger extent.Cataloged By
