Scissors. -- In a pair of scissors with short blades A, B, recesses G, G1 are cut at the base of the blades so as to make them serve to cut buttonholes with the aid of an adjustable stop F on one of the shanks. The recesses G, G1 are notched so as to act as gripping-jaws for pipes or rods. Cigar-cutting jaws H, H1 are formed inside the shanks, and notches W are added for cutting wire. Measuring-gradations are formed on the bevelled back K of one blade, and a nail file is formed on the back of the other. The tip of one blade is edged and squared for use as a screw-driver A1, and the tip of the other is edged and curved to use as an eraser S, while an adjacent slot L is useful in extracting cartridges. A glass-cutting wheel N is mounted on one bow R with a nipping-notch O adjacent, and a dotting-wheel P is mounted on the other bow R1, which is flattened at M to serve as a hammer.Cataloged By
