Scissors and shears. -- Partly improvements on the invention described in Specification No. 270, A.D. 1893. Ball bearings are introduced between the blades. Where a sliding motion is allowed to one blade by means of a pin and slot pivot, it is determined by a ball pitted in the slotted blade and engaging an oblique channel in the unslotted blade. In instruments with no sliding movement, a ball pitted in one blade rolls on the other blade in a channel concentric with the pivot; or a pair of balls fitted in one blade simply bear against the other blade.Cataloged By
