Shears. -- The bow and shanks are cut as a blank C, Fig. 1, and bent into a hollow form, the ends D, D being doubled and pressed close, Fig. 2. A slit E is formed to receive the tang B of the blade A, which is punched out to the desired form, and the tang pressed concave to fit the shank C. The two parts are then secured by rivets G, G2. If it be desired to make the blades removable, the arrangement shown in Fig. 10 is adopted. The recess H and slot I in the blade receive the parts x, y of the shank C, which is slotted at L to take the part N of the blade. The whole is then secured by a screw K.Cataloged By
