Scissors and shears. -- The pivot consists of a screw A which is made in two parts, a right-handed screw B which screws into one leg C of the scissors, and a left-handed screw D which screws into the nut E. The nut E has a hexagonal head, the remainder being made cylindrical and forming a pivot on which the leg of the scissors turns. The nut is locked by being screwed against the shoulder G as shown. Various modifications are described, the essential feature being the pivot formed with right and left handed screws.Cataloged By
