Scissors, for cutting buttonholes &c. The blades a, i are made long enough for use in the ordinary way, but are cut away at their bases b, and one of them carries a screw c bearing a long nut d having an eccentric boss. To adjust the length of cut for button-holes, the nut is screwed out as shown. But when it is desired to use the scissors for cutting with the whole blades, the nut is screwed home against the blade i; the boss then catches against a shoulder e on the shank of the blade a, and prevents complete separation of the blades as is requisite in cutting buttonholes.Cataloged By
