Shears. -- Two-handed garden and like shears are provided with an extra two-edged blade between the ordinary pair. Both one-hand and two-hand shears may be provided with (1) opening-springs; (2) handles formed of wooden strips, with or without bows, fastened upon the metal shanks; (3) hook catches; (4) blade edges curved inwards to give better bite; (5) flanges along the back of the blades; or (6) are combined with saws or pruning-appliances. In the last case, the back of one blade is formed with saw teeth or made curved, and this blade is made easily detachable.Cataloged By
