Scissors and shears are provided with a supplementary cutting-blade sharpened on both edges and adapted to be secured to either blade of the instrument. The supplementary blade 5, Fig. 1, has a hole or an open-ended slot which engages the pivot pin 3, and it may be secured by a counter-sunk screw 10, Fig. 6, passing into the blade 2; or the end of the supplementary blade 5 may project into the handle 2a, Fig. 1, and be secured thereto by a set-screw 6; or the end of the supplementary blade may be provided with a finger 12, Fig. 7, having a T-shaped end with lugs 13, which engage notches 14 in either blade handle as required. The blade 5 is sharpened on both edges by connecting it to the blades 1, 2 successively while they are being sharpened.Cataloged By
