Scissors and shears, making. The metal blank S set edgewise is first forced into the mould A by the die C, and then placed on its side in the mould D and pressed out to form the bow round the boss E. After passing through a second pair of dies giving the final form, the thin web over the bow is punched out by the tool shown in Figs. 5 and 6. A clamping-block H, normally held up by springs, is brought down by a spring M on the punch F before the latter reaches the work.Cataloged By
