Scissors. -- An improved tool for cutting thin sheet material comprises a pair of scissor-blades l, o for making the first cut, and a pair of over-lapping cutting-disks c, k for continuing the cut. The disk c is fixed to the tool body by a screw and nut, and the disk k is fixed to an arm g pivoted at f to the tool body, to which it is fixed by a thumbscrew engaging in a slot h, so that the amount of overlap of the cutting-disks c, k can be adjusted. The movable scissor-blade o is pivoted about the centre of the cutting-disk c. The cutting-disks may be fixed or free to rotate, and may be replaced by cutters having the form of sectors or segments. The tool body may be provided with a guide-roll or slide, by which the tool may be guided along the edge of the material to be cut.Cataloged By
