Shears for edging grass. The lower blade, which extends beyond the upper, is fixed firmly to a stem A terminating in a crutch handle at a convenient height. The upper blade is pivoted to the lower and is actuated by the rod B, worked by the lever C, the play being limited by stops D, D on the rod. The lever C is double-jointed to the stem A, allowing a slight outward play to secure a better shearing action. To the lower blade is attached, so as to be readily removable, a pan E to catch the grass, and the shears are provided with an adjustable hoop of iron or a wheel F, which acts as a point of resistance to the downward stroke, and assists in moving the shears forward.Cataloged By
