Shears. -- In order to relieve the tension on the spring when spring shears, pincers, &c. are not in use, and in order to dispense with the usual catch uniting the ends of the handles, the end of the spring a is notched near its pivot b for engagement with a second spring c, which, when turned back out of engagement with the notch, as shown in Fig. 7, allows the spring a to move freely without exerting any tension.Cataloged By
